Agricultural, Countryside - Mike Thompson

Mike qualified in 1981 and initially worked in the commercial property world in the north west of England before moving to Towcester in 1982. He was a partner in Shoosmiths & Harrison from 1986 to 1990 before co-founding Arnold Thomson with his former partner James Arnold in 1990, he now heads up the team as Director at Arnold Thomson. His particular expertise is in agriculture and related property matters, particularly agricultural tenancies, for clients throughout England and Wales.

Agricultural, Property - Matt Hawkins

Matt joined Arnold Thomson in 2002 and was appointed a Director in June 2007. Matt specialises in general property matters affecting landowners and farmers with particular focus on farm and estate sales and purchases, agricultural tenancies, development land sales, remortgages and intra-family transfers. He also has a detailed knowledge of the Single Payment Scheme and Environmental Stewardship Schemes.

Matt also specialises in providing inheritance tax planning advice for his clients, in particular, regarding Agricultural Property Relief and Business Property Relief. Matt is an active member of the Agricultural Law Association and sits on the Association’s “Next Generation” Committee. He often presents seminars to clients and other professions on agricultural topics.
