Tee Off for Northamptonshire Community Foundation

8th December 2018

Wilson Browne recently held their annual charity golf day which was attended by local businesses and raised a fantastic total of 750 through the generosity of all those attending. The firm runs a number of charity events throughout the year as part of its commitment to giving something back to the community. The money raised was donated to Northamptonshire Community Foundations Surviving Winter Appeal which will help transform the lives of vulnerable older people and communities in Northamptonshire. As well as supporting national charities, Wilson Browne consciously tries to support local causes as well. The event, held at Whittlebury Hall, was attended by over 60 guests who made charitable donations not just through attending but through other activities throughout the day. Speaking of their efforts, Jennifer Laskey, Partner at Wilson Browne Solicitors, said: Were overwhelmed with the response we had for the charity golf day and would like to say a huge thank you to all those who took part. Our employees and clients enjoyed the day greatly, and their help and support has enabled us to make this donation to Northamptonshire Community Foundations Surviving Winter Appeal. Knowing that weve raised 750 is a fantastic feeling. Northamptonshire Community Foundation provides much needed and often life changing grants to some of the countys most vulnerable and in need people. During last winter overall, the Foundation raised nearly 20,000. These funds helped reduce social isolation and support vulnerable people, with funds distributed directly to individuals as well as local organisations dedicated to helping the elderly and vulnerable within the county. The provision of Keep Warm packs, hot meals and social activities at local centres, helping to keep homes warmer by undertaking maintenance tasks and providing Thermos flasks for hot drinks are just a few examples of how the funds were used.
